The Hawks specialist policing unit was on board the Greek-registered Irene SL in Durban on Wednesday to help other investigators after its release by Somalian pirates earlier in April. "We are looking for evidence [relating to] the pirates," said Hawks spokesman Macintosh Polela. The tanker was hijacked on February 9 after it left Oman with a large consignment of crude oil. A medical doctor was also on board in case any of the crew required help. The Hawks tried to board on Tuesday night when it arrived, but the sea was too rough and they had to wait until Wednesday to begin their work, which is being conducted with investigators from other countries as well as Interpol. The vessel is anchored outside the port of Durban. More here http://www.businessday.co.za/articles/Content.aspx?id=140882
