Introduction of REGULA on Saaremaa route sees charter of MERCANDIA VIII as backup vessel

To meet demand during the summer months, Estonian ferry operator Praamid has announced that a third ship will be introduced on the route connecting the Estonian mainland port of Virtsu with Kuivastu on Saaremaa.

Replacement ferry for Prinsesse Benedikt ready to start

On Apr 8, 2015, the replacement ferry for the damaged "Prinsesse Benedikte" on the Rødby-Puttgarden run, the "Mercandia VIII", left Helsingborg and berthed in Rødby at 7 p.m. The ship had served as an additional freight ferry on the Helsingør - Helsingborg service before. Ahead of the start on the Rødby - Puttgarden route some adjustments at the ferry berths have to be carried out in both ports which may take some days. The "Mercandia VIII" is due to undertake freight sailings from Tuesday to Friday. Repairs of the "Prinsesse Benedikte" were expected to be finished end of June.
