Medevac off Bahamas

The US Coast Guard medevaced a 70-year-old man from the "Caribbean Princess" approximately 46 miles northwest of the Bahamas on Feb 18, 2018. Watchstanders at Coast Guard 7th District received a notification at approximately 8 a.m from the ship stating a man aboard was suffering from chest pains and required emergency medical assistance. The watchstanders directed the launch of a Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew to assist. The Jayhawk crew hoisted the patient and his nurse, and took them to Cheshire Hall Medical Centre on Turks and Caicos Islands at approximately 12:55 p.m.

Medevac off Fort Lauderdale

US Coast Guard crews medevaced a man from the "Caribbean Princess" approximately 74 miles east of Fort Lauderdale on Jan 27, 2018. The 66-year-old male reportedly suffered stroke-like symptoms while aboard the cruise ship. Coast Guard 7th District Command Center watchstanders received a report of the injury at approximately 8:34 p.m. Saturday. Watchstanders launched a Coast Guard Air Station Miami MH-65 Dolphin helicopter aircrew at approximately 9 p.m. The man was hoisted and delivered to Broward Medical Center at approximately 11:30 p.m.

Boy medevaced off Miami

The US Coast Guard medevaced a 12-year-old Canadian boy from the "Caribbean Princess" 230 miles southeast of Miami, on Jan 2, 2018. Coast Guard District Seven watchstanders received a call from the cruise ship stating the 12-year-old boy was suffering from symptoms of appendicitis and was in need of medical assistance. A Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew was launched at approximately 7:00 p.m., arrived on scene and transported the patient and his father to awaiting emergency medical services at Air Station Miami at approximately 8:30 p.m.
