Grounding off Bath

Fri Aug 28 10:15:03 CEST 2015 Timsen

In the morning of Aug 28, 2015, the "Nathalie" ran aground at Bath in South Beveland with six crew members on board. The accident happened around 5:00 a.m. during low tide. The ship got stuck on the cobblestones of the embankment and therefore may have suffered hull damage. The ship was en route from Antwerp and had just entered the Wester Scheldt being destined to Ghent. The "Multratug 30" and the patrol boat "RWS 78" of Rijkswaterstaat were first on the spot. Presumably the ship which had a slight list to port was refloated shgort before high tide which was at 1:45 p.m. and headed for Ghent where she berthed in the Kluizen Dock at 6.30 p.m. The Water Police was investigating the grounding.
