Ferry lost anchor
The "Nissos Kalymnos" during its scheduled service from Patmos to Agathonisi and Pythagorion, lost its portside anchor, in the morning of Oct 12, 2018. The Port Authority of Patmos was notified about the incident. Subsequently, the vessel proceeded safely to Pythagorion with 28 passengers on board. On its arrival at Pythagorion, the vessel was detained in port, until the anchor was replaced, and a class maintenance certificate issued.
Engine damage in Kalymnos
On Sep 27, 2018, the Kalymnos Port Authority was informed by the captain of the "Nissos Kalymnos", which was docked at the port of Kalymnos, about a damage of the ship's starboard side main engine. The port authority detained the ship until the damage has been restored and a seaworthiness certificate has been presented by the relevant classification society.
Three ferries involved in collision
The "Blue Star Patmos" got her anchor entangled with an anchor of the ferry "Nissos Kalymnos" at Kalymnos late at night on Jan 6 2017. The "Blue Star Patmos" was about to leave the port in stormy winds. She was pushed onto the "Nissos Kalymnios" which got the anchor ropes cut, so that she hit the "Olympios Zeus" which was moored next to her. One anchor was detached, and she suffered damage at the railings. Also the ramp of the "Olympios Zeus" was damaged. The "Nissos Kalymnios" was banned from sailing until repairs have been carried out.Upload News
