Nordlink now Finnswan
The "Finnswan" (formerly "Nordlink") is due to start on the Naantali–Långnäs–Kapellskär route. Slotting the "Europalink", purchased last week, to the Malmö–Travemünde route will trigger reshuffling in Finnlines fleet. At the end of April 2018, the "Nordlink" will switch from the Malmö–Travemünde route onto the Naantali–Långnäs–Kapellskär route. The name of the vessel has changed from "Nordlink" to "Finnswan", on Feb 5, and she sails now under Finnish flag.
Medevac off Stevns
On Aug 23, 2016, a person was medevaced from the "Nordlink" east of Stevns by the Danish Sea Rescue Service. The Patient was hoisted aboard a helicoper and taken to the Bispebjerg Hospital for further Treatment.
Smoke development on cargo deck
smoke development has occurred on board the "Nordlink" between Malmö and Travemünde in the night from Mar 21 to 22, 2016, but no fire developed. The smoke came from a truck loaded with wood chips on the third deck. The crew was able to cool down the load with water. Passengers were first ordered into the restaurant but could later return to their cabins. The situation was under control and the ferry, which left Malmo at 11.25 p.m. dock at Travemünde in time at 7 a.m.Upload News
