Perpetrators stole ship's equipment
The duty able seaman who was making his rounds on board the 'Ocean Moray' spotted two unauthorised perpetrators carrying a knife and a rod, while the vessel was moored at the Belawan Anchorage in position 03 55 00N, 098 44 00E, on July 8, 2021, at 2.20 a.m. They were suspected to have boarded the ship via the hawse pipe. The general alarm was sounded and the incident was reported to the Belawan port authority. The perpetrators escaped via fire hoses attached to the bollards. After the incident, the crew increased their deck watch and continued to blow the ship's horn every 30 to 45 min. There was no damage to the ship, and the crew was not injured. Two fire hose couplings were stolen.
