Oldenburg troubled by mooring line

Mon Apr 08 18:34:07 CEST 2019 Timsen

The "Oldenburg", en route from Bideford to Lundy Island, suffered fouled propellers due to a mooring line in position 51 09 48 N, 004 39 16 W, on April 7, 2019. The ship was unable to proceed, the tides were dropping, and mooring lines were parting. A small tug iwas contracted by the vessel's owner company to assist.

Man jumped from ship and was rescued by a crew member

Mon Jul 17 22:37:31 CEST 2017 Timsen

A man jumped from the "Oldenburg" during the charity river cruise in a moment of madness and had to be rescued from the water by a crew member at Bideford Quay on July 14, 2107, around 9 p.m. The man had been aboard the ship as part of a river cruise in aid of Cancer Research UK. He tried to jump off the ship onto the quay but he missed. He hit the wall and went into the water and had to be rescued by a crew member. He was not injured and was very grateful to the crew member who helped him out. The company was carrying out a full review of its security presence for similar future events. It was a private charter fundraising for Cancer Research UK. They had their own security staff on board the ship.
