Bulk carrier under tow to Vung Tau

The Vietnames Navy instructed the Saigon Newport Corporation to send another ship to assist the 'Pacific 07'. The Tan Cang Marine Services Joint Stock Company then dispatched a tug to tow the bulk carrier to Vung Tau by March 24, where it will be handed over to the proper authorities and for repairs. The vessel initially experienced an engine failure and could not be repaired. It was in danger of running aground, so it was first towed to Song Tu Tay Island. All 19 crew members were safe.

Disabled bulk carrier towed to Song Tu Tay Island

The 'Pacific 07' with 19 Vietnamese crew members on board was disabled due to a damage to its three generators in the South China Sea in position 11 15 00.0 N, 115 00 36.0 E,on March 17, 2022, at noon. The vessels in the vicinity were requested to keep a sharp lookout and assist if possible and report to MRCC Vietnam.
