Ferry collision in Banten
Personnel from the Banten Police along with the Basarnas Banten, Cilegon City Fire Department, BPTD Region 8 Banten and PMI Cilegon City evacuated the crew of the ferry KMP 'Nusa Dharma' after a collision with the KMP 'Panorama Nusantara' on Feb 10, 2022. The collision occurred due to bad weather after the anchors dragged amid strong winds. Ferry on fire during refurbishment
The "Panorama Nusantara" caught fire at the Janata Marina Indah (JMI) Shipyard in the Tanjung Mas Port area of Semarang City on Feb 18, 2019, at 11.30 a.m., where the ship was under repair. It broke out on the upper deck when the workers were taking a break. They saw smoke billowing from the passenger area at starboard side. The fire was thought to have been caused by the heat of welding works during the replacement of the floor plates. Due to the wind the fire quickly spread. Two units of Pelindo III, four units of the City Government of Senarang and the two tugs "Jayanegara 201" and "Jayanegara 304" were deployed to the scene. A number of windows were broken by firefighters to gain access to the fire. The fire was put out in the afternoon and the affected area was cooled which was still going on at sunset. Still smoke was to be observed. Two men were injured, one suffered burns and was treated at the RSUD Sultan Agung Hospital, the other injured by broken glass.
