On Jan 10, 2022, at 02.29 a.m. the 'Pearl Seaways', enroute from Frederikshavn to Copenhagen, reported that a person on board needed to be medevaced. A helicopter of the Danish Defence was mobilzied and hoisted the patient. He was flown to the University Hospital in Aalborg for further care.

Ferry taken out of service due to travel restrictions

Sat Jan 09 15:03:18 UTC 2021 Timsen

Due to the government's new stricter travel restrictions, DFDS will stop passenger transport on the route Copenhagen-Frederikshavn-Oslo. This means that the 'Pearl Seaways' will be temporarily taken out of service - for the time being until Jan 17, 2021, and the crew will be sent home on the wage compensation scheme. The government's new travel restrictions, which discourage all travel to all countries in the world and at the same time tighten the requirements for entering Denmark, remove the basis for further sailing on the route. The next departure from Copenhagen will be the January 18.
