Helle severely damaged in collision

On June 28, 2011, the "Helle FN 64" from Aså, Frederikshavn was in collision with the shrimp trawler "Perina - HG 244", based in Hirtshals, off the port of Hirtshals while fishing plaice, cod and haddock. The shrimp trawler was heading west and the captain possible blinded by the sun. The "Helle" was hit on the starboard side and berthed at the west pier in Hirtshals at 12.50 a.m. Three or four planks in the starboard side foreship region are broken as well as several ribs and the cabin behind. On June 29 the damage was investigated, and repairs may take up to two months in a shipyard. One of the crew of three was slightly injured. The trawler "Perina" was lesss damaged.
