Arrested tanker sold at auction
The 'Prime South', which was arrested in Singapore due to oil theft on Jan 8, 2018, has been sold for 4.3 million Dollars at an auction. The Singapore Police force had seized the vessel on suspicion of the vessel having received stolen marine gas oil from the Shell refinery in Pulau Bukom. Investigations then revealed that between 2017 and 2018, the vessel had received stolen marine gas oil estimated to be worth around 7.1 million Dollars, from the refinery. As of July 30, 2021, the tanker remained moored in pos. 01° 17.90' N 103° 45.39' E.
