Wreck removal to start this week

Tue Jul 23 10:45:23 CEST 2019 Timsen

After half a year of legal tug-of-war, it finally appears that the ‘James Robert’ will be removed. On July 25 the work to remove the wreck will start. off Fanø. On July 12, the insurance company agreed to pay for the wreck removal. The plan was to remove the sand around the hull, and on July 26 it will be tried to pull the remains of the cutter on the beach. Otherwise it will have to be removed piecewise. Danish report with photo: https://www.tvsyd.dk/artikel/forlist-kutter-fjernes-paa-torsdag-efter-et-halvt-aar

Municipality of Fanø has now sent another urgent request to remove the wreck

Tue Jun 25 09:52:04 CEST 2019 Timsen

The Municipality of Fanø has now sent another urgent request to remove the wreck of the "James Robert". The recipients were both the shipping company's curator after the bankruptcy of the Krabbefiskeri Aps and Njord Krabber Aps in Hvide Sande, and the insurance company. If this is not complied with before July 18, 2019, the Fanø Municipality will demand DKK 300,000 from the Ship Insurance Frederikshavn to cover the costs of getting the wreck removed, which has now almost completely been smashed and sends wreckage to the coast. The insurance company, which, however, does not believe the municipality has a legal law basis to require the crab boat to be removed, despite referring to the Coastal Protection Act, nor has the bankruptcy lawyer, Kristian Dalsgaard, been contacted yet.
