Lifeboat refloated grounded fishing vessel off Kvaløya

Fri May 12 10:20:32 CEST 2023 Timsen

On May 11, 2023, the Norwegian flagged f/v 'Alka' ran aground off Kvaløya. First attempts to refloat the ship failed. Only in the morning of May 12, the 'Kaptain Buhre' managed to pull the ship off, which then proceeded to port with own power. Engine trouble after salvage operation

Wed Sep 28 10:22:28 CEST 2011 Timsen

The "Kaptain Skaugen" is moored in Bodø while the engine is getting repaired. The boat had assisted the fish carrier "Havtrans" in the night of Sep 27, 2011, off Engeløya jointly with the "Norsk Veritas" and a Sea King helicopter with a fire team from Bodø. While the "Norske Veritas" took the disabled freighter in tow to Svolvær, the "Kaptain Skaugen" carried the fire team to Bodø as the Sea King had to return to Herstad. Underway the "Kaptain Skaugen" suffered problems with one engine. Two bolts of the belt tensioner for cooling the engine broke and one engine had tobe stopped. In the morning of Sep 27, engineers went aboard, and it was expected to have the boat fully operational again in the afternoon.
