162 kilo cocaine found in cargo

Mexico law enforcement teams found three sacks with a total 140 packages containing 162 kilo of cocaine in a cargo hold of the 'ES Jupiter' at Lazaro Cardenas. The ship had arrived on July 7 from Buenaventura with a cargo of coal. It took four days of a thorough search of the coal to find the cocaine. An investigation was under way. There was no mentioning of probable crew involvement. The ship was taken to port’s anchorage on July 11 and remained stationary as of July 13.

Maestro Shipping takes Mitsubishi handy bulker

Japanese owner Mitsubishi Corporation continues to downsize its bulker fleet, having sold its 2014-built handysize bulker Sagittarius Ocean. According to shipbroking sources, the Onomichi-built 37,000 dwt bulker was sold to Swiss company Maestro Shipping for $14.6m.
