Barge refloated grounded lighter

On June 1, 2019, around midday the barge "MC 45", 1066 ts (EU-No.: 05612530) of the Möbius Wasserbau broke lose from its moorings on the Weser at Leeseringen and went adrift towards Nienburg. The fire brigade Leeseringen, a fire boat and the police and river authority were alerted. Off the glas recycling company Leeseringen the gravel loaded barge got perpendicular to the fairway and ran aground, blockiong the fairway for shipping. The master of the approaching ‘Selandia‘ remarked the danger and manoevered his ship alongside the "MC 45". He managed to push it back into the stream and pulled it to a berth in the port of Leesering where the fire brigade was in attendance. After 1,5 hours the Weser traffic was released again and the forces stood down. Allision with bridge

On Nov 1, 2011, the "Ares" allided with a bridge spanning the Dortmund-Ems-Canal at Lüdinghausen, canal-km 35. The wheelhouse of the ship was destroyed and broken off, an ambulance on scene. The damage to the ship was around 30000 Euro. The bridge did not suffer damage. The allision was caused by the wheelhouse not having lowered down in time.
