Five bodies recovered, five missing

Five bodies have been recovered and five people are still missing after the "Shun Qiang 2" sank near Shanghai's Wusongkou Port at 1.38 a.m. in the mornin of July 15. She was carrying 3,000 tons of steel roll from Nanjing to Guangzhou and had 13 crew members on board, three of whom were rescued immediately. Ten marine patrol boats, two tugboats and two salvage ships were immediately sent to the scene. A helicopter and divers from the East China Sea Rescue Bureau were also dispatche. Three cabins were locked when the collision occurred and some personnel were asleep.

10 missing after collision

he "Shun Qiang 2" collided with the Chinese "Yong An Lun" close to Shanghai in the night of July 15, 2018, and sank. Three crew members were rescued, 10 more missing. The "Shun Qiang 2" was enroute from Nanjing to Guangzhou when the accident occurred. The ship's load consisted of 3,000 tonnes of steel rods. Chinese rescue ships and aircraft continued to search for the missing in the area.
