Cement carrier reached Agria

After the "Sirios Cement", having sailed from Haifa with 13 crew members on board on Sep 29, suffered mechanical damage northeast of Tinos on Oct 1, 2018, they managed to repair the damage so far that the ship was able to enter the port of Agria Magnesia in the morning hours of Oct 3. The Volos Port Authority detained the ship until a class maintenance confirmation was submitted by the classification society.

Cement carrier disabled, waiting for tug, Aegean sea

Cement carrier SIRIOS CEMENT IV suffered mechanical failure and started to drift in Aegean sea northeast of Tinos island at around 0300 UTC Oct 1. vessel is ballasting from Haifa to Volos, mainland Greece. Tug DIMITROS V was sent or contracted to assist. As of 1330 UTC SIRIOS CEMENT V was still drifting in SSE direction at some 1-1.5 knots speed.
