Disabled ship under tow to Tuzla
Reparis of the 'Sultan Bey' which had suffered a technical failure and had been at Ravenna since June 1, 2021, could not be carried out by the crew. The Greek tug 'Mentoras' (IMO:9061722) was tasked to tow the ship to Tuzla for repairs. The towage started on Oct 14 with an ETA at Tuzla as of Oct 24. The freighter has been acquired by a new owner represented by DCS Tramaco. It had moored at the Saipem quay, in the Piomboni, and belonged to the Turkish Palmali Group. The ship had been seized due to credits claimed by the suppliers. It was purchased by another Turkish shipowner who used the Ravenna shipping agency DCS Tramaco to complete all the paperwork. In recent days it has left the mooring to the tow of two tugs. At the anchorage she was taken over by the 'Mentores'.
