Barge listing in Rotterdam

The 'Theodorus-Johan', 2427 ts (EU-No.: 02327472), started to list to portside in the second petrol port in Pernis, Rotterdam on Nov 21, 2019. Due to an unknown cause, the ship which was being loaded with diesel at the Shell quay was threatened to capsize and was disconnected from the cargo installations. Emergency services, including fire brigade and police, rushed for assistance. No diesel has yet been released ,and there were no injuries. Plans were being made how to straighten the barge which had arrived in port at 4.50 a.m., coming from Nijmegen. After the ballast water tanks were pumped out, the ship could be stabilized at 12.50 p.m. In the early afternoon the emergency services got the situation under control and the relief action was completed. No diesel has leaked into the water.
