Fire after collision in Changzhou
While saling upstream the Yangtze River, the "Tian Sheng 18" struck the product tanker "Shuang Long Hai", which was berthed at Petrochemical Terminal in Changzhou, in the evening of July 9, 2017. The tanker suffered hull damages, a cargo pipe ruptured, causing a fire on board. The tanker’s 15 crew members were evacuated from the vessel, the hull of which was breached, but without imminent danger of sinking. In the morning of July 10 the fire was extinguished, and the tanker could be stabilized, and the situation was reported to be under control. Oil booms were placed around the vessel and its berth.
