Ferry sidelined due to technical trouble

In the afternoon of Nov 5 the ferry service Nesna-Levang had to be suspended due to a technical failure of the "Tjøtta". The "Lovund Express" took over with a departure from Levang on Nov 7 at 6 a.m. but she can not carry vehicles. It was the third time the "Tjøtta" was out of operation due to technical faults after she returned from an extended stay at a shipyard in October. She docked in Sandnessjøn for troubleshooting.

Ferry again out of operation

The ferry "Sigrid" entered service in the afternoon of Oct 17 after the "Tjøtta" again was out of Operation. Theferry encountered technical problems again, and sailings between between Nesna and Levang had to be suspended. The "Sigrid" took over with the 4.40 p.m. sailing from Nesna. Until then the "Lovund Express" had operated the route, which, howver, cannot carry vehicles.

Ferry troubled again after repair

On Oct 12 the "Tjøtta" was back into operation after a long period of repair. after it crashed into the ferry dock at Nesna and suffered extensive damage at the bow door and parts of the fuselage. On Oct 13 the ferry was out of service again due to a leak in a gear at 7 a.m. The ferry "Lovund Express" was inserted temporarily on the route Nesna-Levang at 08.45 a.m. until further notice. Unless the damage is repaired quickly, the car ferry "Alsten" could have been inserted into the route during the day. However, repairs of the "Tjøtta" were completed at 2.30 p.m. and the ship returned to service in Nesna.
