Tanker struck unterwater rock

The "VF Tanker 1" was in collision with an underwater rock ssouth of Kea in 37 34 N 24 16 E, on Jan 14, 2018 at 1.30 a.m. Koundouros region south of Kea. The ship suffered a small breach in a ballast tank in the foreship, but the incident did not cause any marine pollution. The ship got off without assistance and was escorted by the "Aegaias" to an anchorage at Lavrion and was forbidden to leave until the damage was repaired and the class maintenance certificate by the attending classification society submitted. A preliminary investigation was carried out by the Central Port Authority of Lavrion. The vessel had been enroute from Tanger to Istanbul with a crew of 12 on board was moored on Istanbul anchorage on Jan 29 and arrived at Tuzla on Jan 30.

Collision in ice convoy

On Feb 7, 2014, at 8.50 a.m. the cargo m/v "Volgo-Balt 236" was in collision with the "VF Tanker-1" in the Azov sea, while both vessels were proceeding in an ice convoy from Eysk port to Kerch Strait, odin.tc reports. Both vessels suffered hull damage above the waterline and were escorted by icebreakers to Kavkaz port for damage assessment. On Feb 10 both vessels were in the Kerch Strait, the tanker en route to Feodosia port, the freighter en route to Bandirma.
