Fishing vessel disabled by nets in propellers

Mon May 28 09:29:21 CEST 2018 Timsen

On May 25, 2018, at 2.48 p.m. the NSRI Mossel Bay duty crew wasd activated following a request for assistance from the "Vuna Liesa" reporting fishing nets entangled in the propellers off-shore of Vleesbaai. The lifeboats "Rescue 15" and "St Blaze Rescuer" were launched, accompanied by salvage divers that had been arranged by their fishing company Seavuna. Arriving on scene, the divers entered the water and were able to recover all of the netting. The lifeboats escorted the fishing trawler back to Mossel Bay port without incident.
