Allision in Patras

The Central Port Authority of Patras was informed on Feb 5, 2022, at noon the allision of the 'SW Cook' with the quay in Patras during the mooring operations with 43 crew members on board. The port side stern hit the quay about one meter above the waterline, causing the distortion of plates and a small rupture, without water ingress.

Medevac off Cape Cod

The Coast Guard medevaced a man approximately 200 miles east of Cape Cod from the "WG Cook" on May 27, 2013. Watchstanders at the Coast Guard First District received a report at approximately 5:30 a.m. from the seismic research vessel of a 58-year-old male suffering from chest pains. A Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod, Mass., MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew and an HU-25 Guardian aircraft crew were immediately launched. The Jayhawk crew arrived on scene and safely hoisted the man from the vessel. He was taken to awaiting EMS at Barnstable Municipal Airport in Hyannis, Mass., and transferred to Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis. Gibdock completes refit of seismic vessel "WG Cook"

Gibraltan shipbuilder, Gibdock, has completed a refit of the seismic vessel ‘WG Cook’ for WesternGeco, reflecting the yard’s growing ability to attract return customers in the specialised offshore vessel market. The ship entered service on May 9, 2013.
