Port workers physically threatened as they headed to unload cargo

Tue Sep 30 10:32:29 CEST 2014 Timsen

The "Zim Sjhanghai" that was blocked from unloading its cargo at the Port of Oakland by pro-Palestinian protesters on Sep 27, 2014, was headed to Los Angeles on Sep 28. Some 200 people angry over Israel’s bombardment of the Gaza Strip in response to Hamas rocket salvoes had staged a protest of the Zim Shanghai at the Port of Oakland on Sep 27. Members of the International Longshore and Warehouse Union were threatened physically and their vehicles blocked as they tried to report to work, refused to unload the ship. The "Zim Shanghai" left Oakland with its cargo still onboard in the evening of Sep 27 and was expected to arrive in Los Angeles on Sep 30.
