The completion of Corpus Christi Stage 3 adds more than 10 mtpa of liquefaction capacity to a market the United States already dominates. US LNG exports reached approximately 84.7 million tonnes (Mt) across January to August 2026, roughly 29.9% of global supply, making the country the single largest supplier worldwide according to Wood Mackenzie tracking data. It ranks number one into both the Europe, Middle East, Africa (EMEARC) region at 61.2% share and the Americas at 60.3%, and number three into Asia-Pacific (APAC) at 11.6%, behind Australia and Malaysia.
The destination mix is rotating decisively toward Asia. The US export book shifted from approximately 80.7% EMEARC and 14.5% APAC early in the year to approximately 53.9% and 34.4% respectively in recent months. The clearest monthly volume gains are concentrated in Asia, led by Japan, India and South Korea, while European offtake softens, with the UK and Turkey declining most sharply.
Stage 3 therefore enters a market where incremental US supply is increasingly finding demand to the east. The Asian buyers showing the strongest 2026 growth represent a likely outlet for incremental US capacity, while Atlantic Basin dominance at 61.2% of EMEARC supply preserves the flexibility to keep Europe supplied and arbitrage volumes toward Asia as netbacks favour it.
Corpus Christi LNG 2026 exports have remained steady, exporting no less than approximately 1,600 kt monthly since January with a minor July peak near 2,000 kt, and weighted toward western and southern European destinations. Completion lifts Corpus Christi's total nominal capacity close to 3.7 Bcf/d (according to Wood Mackenzie's CTA modeling), making it the second-largest US LNG export facility behind Sabine Pass. Incremental US supply could make it harder for already-stressed Middle East Gulf flows to recapture lost Asian share.
Whether new US volumes consolidate their gains in Asia or Middle East Gulf supply recovers enough to reclaim lost share will define the market's rebalancing into year-end. For now, fleet-wide LNG voyage tracking shows no clear resolution.
