Hurricane Melissa slowed US crude exports in the week ending 31 October. The storm disrupted tanker transit across the Caribbean, briefly reducing flows from PADD 3 export terminals..

Exports fell below 2mn b/d compared with 4.796mn b/d the previous week. Despite the slowdown, there was continued departures for South Korea. The San Ramon Voyager loaded at the Louisiana Offshore Oil Terminal (LOOP) and declared Daesan as its destination. Three vessels had sailed for Korean facilities the prior week.

Another notable movement was the Dubai Beauty, which departed last week after loading at the Eagle Ford Corpus Christi terminal in Texas. The tanker is bound for Irving Oil’s Canaport refinery in New Brunswick. Wood Mackenzie’s monitoring revealed storage utilization of storage at the Eagle Ford terminal reached 59% in the week ending 24 October, up from 26% the previous week.
