US exports to Nigerias Dangote Refinery strengthened through the opening weeks of 2026, supported by a consistent sequence of US Gulf Coast loadings. Four confirmed voyages, the Rhythmic, Montestena, Seaways Montauk, and Maria A Angelicoussis, delivered a combined 704,203 bpd between early January and early February.
Weekly export rates reflected this steady build, rising from approximately 106,600 bpd in the week ending 9 January to approximately 146,700 bpd by mid month, before jumping above 305,000 bpd in early February as larger shipments departed Corpus Christi’s lightering area.
According to Wood Mackenzie tracking, the Dangote refinery last took US crude late last year, although volumes were not as consistent as at the start of 2026. The refinery has a capacity of 650,000 bpd, and reports suggest the facility is returning to service following recent planned maintenance. The latest cargo bound for Dangote was on the Maria A Angelicoussis, a VLCC, while the two prior shipments were Suezmax liftings from Enbridges Ingleside, Texas, terminal near Corpus Christi.
