Ferry assisted yacht

The 'Hebrides' along with the RNLI lifeboat 17-26 (MMSI:232004402) from Mallaig assisted a yacht in distress near the Isle of Eigg in the evening of June 1, 2023, while en route to Tarbert. The ferry received a mayday call and assisted the yacht until being released by the Coastguard.

Ship sidelined after discovery of Covid-19 infection

CalMac has cancelled several sailings of the 'Hebrides' from Tarbert to Uig, after a crew member tested positive for Covid-19, while departing Tarbert on Nov 11, 2021. The vessel returned to Uig with no passengers on board in order to be deep cleaned. It resumed its service after reviews and deep cleaning on Nov 12 at 11.50 a.m.

Ferry sailings liable to disruption

Due to awaiting a crew member's Covid-19 test results, the sailings of the 'Hebrides' on the route from Lochmaddy to Uig were liable to disruption or cancellation at short notice on Oct 31. The crew member's PCR test result came back as negative. The vessel returned to service at 3.40 p.m. with a depature from Uig.
