Wed Mar 10 10:17:14 CET 2021 Timsen

On March 8 the tug 'Trojan' has pulled the 'Magan D' into the port of Dun Laoghaire. The vessel must be inspected and declared safe before it can leave the port again. There were 15 crew members from Indonesia and Spain on board. On scene were winds from Northeast, veering East or Southeast with Beaufort 4 to 6.

Trawler adrift in Irish Sea

Fri Mar 05 11:00:27 CET 2021 Timsen

The 'Magan D.' was disabled with 15 crew members on board due to water mixed with oil in the engine on March 3, 2021, at 8.50 p.m. in the Irish Sea 27 miles from Porthdinllaen in position 52 51 00.0 N, 005 17 56.0 W. Welfare checks were established with the Coastguard Milford Haven every two hours. SOSREP powers of intervention were invoked and a broadcast warning to the skipper of the vessel has been issued via a connect call using a translator. The vessel's owner was contacted by the crew to organize a tug. The Holyhead coastguard was also attempting to make contact with the owner. The Irish tug 'Trojan' (MMSI: 250001394) has been tasked out of Dublin, with ETA as of March 5, 5 p.m. The vessel's insurers have been informed about the incident.
