Ferry withdrawn from service due to positive Covid--19 test

Sun Nov 14 19:43:21 CET 2021 Timsen

The 'Loch Seaforth' was withdrawn from service as a result of crew members returning positive COVID tests on Nov 14, 2021. The PCR results of all close contacts on the vessel have now returned negative. The vessel departed Stornoway at 3:02 p.m. and was due to arrive in Ullapool at 5:32 p.m. The freight service was expected to operate as normal.

Medevac in Ullapool

Sat Oct 02 23:47:06 CEST 2021 Timsen

A passenger of the 'Loch Seaforth' has been taken to Raigmore Hospital when he fell ill in the morning of Oct 2, 2021, during the crossing from Stornoway to Ullapool. Paramedics and members of the Achiltibuie Coastguard team were scrambled to the ferry terminal at Ullapool around 8.30 a.m. to meet the vessel as it came into port. The man was taken off the vessel before being placed into the hands of the ambulance service. He was then transferred by ambulance to Raigmore Hospital. His condition is unknown.

Ferry broke down

Fri Nov 13 18:29:58 CET 2020 Timsen

A breakdown pf the 'Loch Seaforth' on Nov 11, 2020, has sparked the cancellation of some sailings of the Ullapool-Stornoway route on Nov 12. The overnight freight sailings between Wester Ross and Lewis were cancelled and the sailings from Stornoway at 7 a.m. and from Ullapool at 10.30 a.m. have also been called off. Uncertainty still hung over later sailings on Nov 12. Ferry passengers have been urged to check the CalMac website for updates. The company attempted a repair on the technical issue on Nov 11, but due to weather conditions it has so far not been possible to carry this out. Work was to be continued when weather allowed, and an update provided on the 2 p.m. sailing from Stornoway and 5.30 p.m. sailing from Ullapool asap.
