Tug attacked in Gulf of Mexico

The 'Remas' was attacked and boarded by armed pirates on April 9, 2020, at 10.30 p.m. in the Gulf of Mexico, about 70 miles north of Puerto Dos Bocas. The pirates fired several shots and took crew members, including officers, as hostages. They plundered the ship, taking with them all valuables and ship’s equipment. The hostages were used as human shields during the attack to subdue the crew, and weren’t kidnapped. All 30 crew members remained unhurt. Supply ship boarded and looted by pirates

The 'Remas' with 35 people on board was attacked by 7-8 armed pirates in two fast boats on Nov 11,2019, in the Gulf pf Mexico, North of Ciudad del Carmen. The pirates boarded the ship. Two crew members, both Italians, were wounded, but not life threatening. The pirates managed to loot the ship and the crew and fled. The injured men were transferred to hospital. The 'Remas' moved to the anchorage of Ciudad del Carmen and was moored.
