Wreck of fishing vessel raised

Fri May 25 11:40:35 CEST 2018 Timsen

On May 24 at 1 p.m. the "Perkredes - RI 450" was raised by the Storm Marine from the bottom of the port of Hvide Sande; however, it was doubtful whether she would be going to sail again. The vessel wich usually weighs 32 tons had a weight of 100 tons when lifted by a mobile crane of the Hvide Sande Ship Yard due to the water on board. Jan Kristensen, who owned the ship for the last 37 years, witnessed the operation. The Danish Maritime Authority was on site to gather information for an accident investigation report which can take from five to eight months. Wreck of Perkredes to be raised with balloons

Thu May 24 10:32:38 CEST 2018 Timsen

The "Perkredes -RI 450", which went down in the North port of Hvide Sande on May 22 at 9.50 p.m., was due to be raised on May 24 at 2 p.m.. There have been meetings between the insurance company, the port authority and the company Storm Marine in Houvig - to remove the wreck. In the morning of May 23, divers went down to investigate the ship and detach the loose equipment to ensure the safety and the balance of the ship when it is lifted from a water depth of seven meters. In the morning of May 24 lifting balloons were attached to the hull, and once it has been brought to the surface, a mobile crane was pull it out of the water and place it on the dock. The weather was absolutely perfect for the task, so conditions could not be better. The lifeboat "Emile Robin" guarded the sinking site the whole nights and had projectors targeting the site to avoid the risk of anyone sailing into the wreck. In the morning, the "Emile Robin" was stood down. There has reportedly been no pollution of the water. The Danish tug "Helle“ (MMSI-No.: 219011224) was deployed to assist in the work at the sinking site too. The Dutch cargo m/v "Bothnia“ (IMO:9279408),which had been trapped within the oil boom after the sinking, could leave the port of Hvide Sande on May 23 at 4.20 p.m. and headed to Brake, where it arrived on May 24 at 10.30 a.m. Danish reports with photos: https://dagbladetringskjern.dk/hvidesande/Perkredes-haeves-klokken-14/artikel/332452 https://dagbladetringskjern.dk/hvidesande/Foerst-paa-pletten-De-sank-paa-faa-minutter/artikel/332398 https://hvidesande.nu/bomtrawler-kaentrede-i-indsejlingen-til-hvide-sande/
