Fire in Kherson

A fire broke out in the engine room of the "Ulan-Ude" at the Kherson ship repair yard on Dec 4, 2018, at 3 p.m. Prior to the arrival of the fire services, the crew activated the vessel's carbon dioxide firefighting system. The fire was extinguished by the crew with the assistance of 30 Kherson firefighters and seven fire appliances. The causes and circumstances of the fire were being investigated.

Collision in Istanbul

In the afternoon of Feb 8, 2013, the "Amur 2521 was in collision with the Turkish speed ferry "Yeditepe 1" in Istanbul. The cargo ship was enroute from Batumi, where it had sailed on Feb 5, to Ravenna. It was trying to pass the waterway without the assistance of a pilot, despite strong recommendadtion of International Maritime Association. Seven passengers aboard the Turkish 39-m-ferry were injured, two of them seriously. A tug of the General Directorate of Coastal Safety transferred the injured to shore, and fast rescue boats took the necessary safety precautions. The "Amur 2521" was ordered to drop anchor at the Ahirkapi anchorage.

On Apr 26, 2011, the "Amur 2521" encountered engine problems on the Maas. The ship was taken in tow by the tugs "Smit Rusland" and "Fairplay 24", assisted by the "RPA 16".
