Finnsky caught by own anchor chain

Wed Dec 11 09:28:34 CET 2013 Timsen

The "Finnsky" got stranded off Warnemünde until Dec 9, 2013. The ship had anchored off the shore to ride out the strom after it left Lübeck on Dec 6, but it got caught in its own anchor chain and was unable to proceed. Divers were called on Dec 9 and cut off the anchor chain with welding equipment. Involved on scene were the tugs "Bugsier 15" and "Bugsier 16" and the multipurpose vessel "Baltic Taucher II" of the Baltic Diving company in Rostock. The ferry docked at berth 60 in Rostock at 10 p.m. and left the port on Dec 10 at 9.45 a.m. bound for Aarhus.
