Wreck removal completed

The Azov-Black Sea Branch of FSUE Baltic BASU on August 28, 2012, completed work to remove the bow and stern of the "Besiktash" from the coastal strip of Sochi. The last piece of stern of the damaged ship was offloaded at the North Pier of the port of Sochi. The ship had split in two amidships during a storm on February 13, 2012 and washed up on the coastline of Sochi. Initially, salvaging and removal of the vessel parts was performed by LLC Avesta Conversion but then the company cancelled the contract due to the lack of funding.
