Cargo vessel stuck in ice

On Apr 20, 2018, the "Inzener Nazarov", enroute from Azov to Samara in ballast, got stuck in severe ice at river km 1998 on the Volga River in the Saratov Reservoir. The vessel was awaiting for the assistance of the icebreaker "Captain Zarubin" of Rosmorport. There was no damage to the ship.

Electrical Fault Started Caspian Sea Tanker Fire

Tuesday's fire on the tanker 'Inzhener Nazarov' on the Caspian sea near Makhachkala could have been caused by a faulty electrical circuit, the Dagestan Interior Ministry said on Wednesday. "The fire in the bow of the vessel was probably due to a fault in an electrical cicuit panel," the ministry said. The fire in the superstructure of the vessel started on Tuesday at 18:35 Moscow time, the fire was localized and extinguished three-and-a-half hours later. Fire destroyed superstructure, Caspian sea

At 1235 Moscow time Feb 28 Makhachkala Port authorities reported fire on board of a tanker Inzhener Nazarov, anchored at port road after offloading cargo of crude oil. Fire started in living quarters and engulfed superstructure. Fire was extinguished in the evening hours mainly by firefighting tugs, crew was evacuated, 1 crew member, bosun, died.
