Ramp damage off Syros
On April 27, 2024, at noon, the Port Authority of Syros was informed by the Master of the 'Artemnis' about a malfunction of the stern ramp during the departure from the port of Parikia, Paros, en route to the port of Syros. The ship sailed safely to the port of Syros, where the 80 passengers disembarked, along with 16 vehicles, three trucks and six two-wheelers. The Port Authority of Syros banned the ferry from sailing until the damage was repaired and a certificate of class maintenance was presented by the monitoring classification society.
Malfunction of anchor system in Syros
The Syros Port Authority was informedin the morning hours of Sep 13 by the Master of the 'Artemis', which was docked in the port of Syros, about a malfunction of the anchor lifting mechanism, and initially prohibited the sailing of the ferry. After the presentation of a class maintenance certificate by the monitoring classification society, the sailing ban was lifted for the scheduled route to the ports of Paros, Serifos, Sifnos, Kimolos and Milos with 59 passengers on board.
Ferry damaged in Sikinos
The Port Authority of Ios was informed by the Master of the 'Artemis' about a damage to the main vehicle ramp during the berthing process at the port of Sikinos in the evening of Sep 9, 2022, during the scheduled service from the port of Lavrio to the ports of Kea, Kythnos, Syros, Paros, Naxos, Ios, Sikinos, Folegandros, Kimolos and Milos. The Ios Port Authority ordered the vessel to return to the port of Ios, where it disembarked safely the 212 passengers and their vehicles. The passengers were forwarded to their destinations with the ferry 'Dionisios Solomos' (IMO: 8909886). The Port Authority of Ios banned the 'Artemis' from sailing until a temporary class maintenance certificate was issued. The vessel was then permitted a single voyage to the port of Syros, where, after the damage was repaired, the sailing ban was lifted, and the vessel continued its scheduled service.Correspondent.
