Engine trouble on St. Lawrence River
The 'Atromitos L.' was disabled due to main engine issues in position 49 15 27 N, 067 27 29 W on the St. Lawrence River off Godbout, Quebec, on jan 28, 2022, at around 8 a.m. The vessel proceeded to a berth in Baie-Comeau, escorted by the patrol vessel 'Louis S. St Laurent' of the Canadian Coast Guard and assisted by a tug, to assess the issue and carry out repairs. It berthed in Baie Comeau on Jan 30 at 9.45 p.m. and remained stationary as of Feb 2.
Star bags a Daiichi bulker
Star Bulk has pounced for a bulker belonging to Daiichi Chuo, the Japanese bulker firm that sought court protection 16 months ago. Star Bulk has been very active of late inspecting many ships. It has plumped for the CLIPPER ISE, a five-year-old, 28,227 dwt bulker and has paid $8.5m for the ship.
