Fire off Harwich extinguished

The "C Wind Fulmar", en route from Grimbsy with nine people onboard, suffered smoke development from the engine room, and subsequently its port side engine failed, in position 51 56 47.3 N, 001 39 01.8 E, 16 miles eastnortheast of Harwich, on Aug 13, 2019. A lifeboat was tasked to provide necessary assistance. The Fire and Rescue Marine Response (FRMR) was informed and awaiting further advice while tasking a fire service. A Coastguard Rescue Team (CRT) was to inspect vessel on arrival and gather information about engine issue. The ship was escorted by the lifeboat to the Harwich Navyard and was secured alongside. The Holbrook Coastguard Rescue Team and Essex Fire and Rescue investigated the vessel. Thermal imaging found nothing untoward. After further investigations the fire services believed the vessel had been on fire, however after the fire suppressant was deployed and hatch sealed, the fire was extinguished successfully.
