Ferry Super Shuttle Roro 1 capsized engulfed in fire after grounding, Philippines
On July 29 2012 ferry Super Shuttle Roro 1 ran aground at around 19:00 LT 2 nm SW off Agoho Point, Looc Bay, Tablas Island, Sibuyan Sea, Philippines, while trying to shelter from heavy sea brought by tropical storm Gener. Vessel was holed with resulting water ingress, and later for unknown reason, fire started in the superstructure. There were 57 passengers and 16 vehicles on board, ferry was en route to Batangas from Dumaguit. Coast Guard Romblon dispatched a rescue team on two rescue boats, when they arrive at the scene, vessel was engulfed in flamed, 57 passengers and 48 crew were already in life rafts. By 06:30 July 30 all passengers and crew were rescued, including one passenger who died during the accident. On a small-scale photo from CG Romblon ferry Super Shuttle Roro 1 on fire.
