Engine failure of Blanc-Sablon
The 'Des Groseilliers' suffered a failure of one of its main engines and one of its diesel alternators in the Strait of Belle Isle in position 51 21 05 N, 57 00 04 W, about seven nautical miles southeast of Blanc-Sablon on Nov 17, 2021, at 09.20 a.m. The crew carried out repairs, and the vessel resumed its voyage the same day.
Allision in La Grance Anse
The 'Des Groseilliers' allided with the dock in La Grande Anse harbour in La Baie, Quebec, in position 48 24 07.0 N, 070 49 52.5 W, on Dec 30. 2020, at 11 p.m. while leaving port. The crew assessed the damage, before the 'Des Groseilliers' finally sailed on Dec 31 at 3.20 a.m.
Icebreaker allided with lock wall
The "Des Groseilliers", upon entering the St. Lambert Lock in Saint Lambert, Quebec, in position 45 29 38.9 N, 73 31 02.8 W, allided with the lock wall on April 22, 2019, at 12.50 p.m. The icebreaker sustained minor damage to the hull. No pollution or injuries were reported.
