Havbryn disabled by its own beams

The "Havbryn" got in trouble in the middle of the Barents Sea on July 31, 2015, after one beam got into the propeller while the other beam had jammed into the seabed so was no longer possible to control the vessel. The Coast Guard vessel "Barentshav" therefore was dispatched to assist the trawler. After a trip of seven hours, the crew located the ship in gale winds and rough seas. The "Barentshav" immediately sent divers to ship to survey the situation, inspect the propeller and take videos. On Aug 1 at 2 a.m. they ended their task after having found out that it was impossible to repair the propeller at sea. The Coastguard therefore decided to attempt to tow the trawler to Hopen, the outermost island of Svalbard in order to find shelter and carry out the necessary diving work. But due to strong currents and bad weather it was decided in the evening that they had to tow the trawler back to the Norwegian mainland. The nearest port was Honningsvåg, and the estimated travel time from Hopen was 1,5 days. The convoy reached the shelter on Aug 2. Havbryn propeller entangled in net, on tow to Honningsvag

Havbryn propeller was entangled in net in the morning July 30, vessel was taken on tow by Coast Guard ship KV Barentshav (IMO 9389356). It is understood, that the trawler will be towed to Honningsvag, Nordkap, Norway.

Turkish built F/V Havbryn christened in Norway

The new trawler built by Tersan shipyard in Turkey, has many Norwegian equipment on board. The vessel is 69.9 meters long and has a production capacity of 72 tons per day. Havbryn have factory pre sorted and palletized fish. Trawl The mill is simple and double trawls, bottom and pelagic trawls. Flour mill has a råstofkapasitet of 40 tons per day. All scrap during production of flour and oil.
