Engine failure at Goodwin Sands
The 'John-Paul K., en route from Amsterdam to Ribadeo with eight crew members on board, suffered an engine failure due to dirt in fuel pipe, which eventually blocked the pipe and starved the engine of gas oil, in position 51 14 37N, 001 45 57E, about 5.4 nautical miles from the light vessel East Goodwin LV on july 6, 2021, at 10.50 a.m. The defect was rectified by the crew, and the voyage was resumed at 12.55 p.m. with an ETA as of July 9.
Exhaust gas manifold gasket needed to be exchanged
The "John-Paul K.", en route from Runcorn to Marin with a crew of nine on board, needed a change of its exhaust gas manifold gasket in position 49 00 14 N, 007 22 35 W, on May 31, 2019, at 08.35 a.m. The master of the vessel believed the repairs would be completed in two hours. At 9.50 p.m. repairs were completed, and the ship resumed its voyage with an ETA as of June 2.
