Disabled tanker towed to Tuzla
The 'Kaya Tuna', while en route from Aliaga to Istanbul, suffered an engine failure at Aliaga on Sep 24, 2020. As rpairs could not be carried out by the crew, the Turkish tug 'T. Damla 4' (IMO: 9438690) was tasked to tow the vessel to Tuzla. The towing operation commenced on Sep 25. On Sep 27 at 12.25 p.m. the ship arrived at Tuzla where a detailed damage survey was carried out by the class surveyor together with H&M experts under the supervision of the owner's superintendent. Permanent repairs have commenced by shipyard teams as regards to the class surveyor further recommendations.
