Tanker expelled from anchorage iin nature park
The Maritime Captaincy of Algeciras expelled the 'Luctor' on Apri 22, 2020, from the protected area of the Natural Park of the Strait as a result of a citizen complaint made through the environmental group Agaden. The tanker was moored in front of the Punta Carnero Lighthouse. After receiving the complaint from a citizen, Agaden immediately contacted the Maritime Authority of Algeciras and the Director of the Natural Park of the Strait to report the violation. The ship was indeed violating the regulations by being in a position where it should not be at anchor or refueling. The ship did not take long to leave the area after the call from the Captaincy and resumed its voyage from Castellon to Ney York City, ETA May 2.
