Ship docked at Damen Repair in Flushing following rudder loss
The "Gadwall" arrived under tow at Gent on Jan 27 for offloading its cargo. On Jan 31 she was shifted to Flushing and docked at the Damen Shiprepair Yard at 5.40 p.m. The vessel had lost its rudder in the North Atlantic, south of Santa Maria Island, on Oct 29, 2016. The ship was bound from Quebec to Gent. The tugs "Smit Nicobar" (IMO: 9322592) and "Centaurus" (IMO: 9433755) had been deployed to take the ship in tow in the Gulf of St. Lawrence and had pulled it all the way to Belgium since. Bulkcarrier disabled in Gulf of St. Lawrence
The "Gadwall" was disabled due to rudder loss on Oct 29, 2016, in Gulf of St. Lawrence en route from Quebec to Gent. The bulkcarrier was taken in tow by the tug "Ocean Artique" (IMO: 9261607) on Nov 1 towards Sept Iles. On Nov 2, the convoy reached the destination around noon, and the tug "Ocean Yvan Desgagnes" (IMO: 9542207) took over.
