MINDEN
An surfer has been saved by the life-savers of the German Maritime Rescue Service (GMRS) on Saturday afternoon, from the twelve degrees cold North Sea. The 41-year-old man was driven abt. 500 meters out to sea from the southern beach of the Danish island Romo with east winds at five Beaufort (40 km / h wind speed). By daughterboat MARGARET of the rescue cruiser MINDEN / Station List on Sylt the rescue crews took the supercooled and weakened 41-year-old (wearing only a swimsuit,) on board. The rescuers provided him with dry clothes and wrapped him in warm blankets. In the port of Havneby on Romo, they handed him shortly thereafter in the custody of the land ambulance service.
